A friend of ours has a small issue with her D4 and it seems that the actuator is stuck. I've not worked on the turbos on our D4 (yet) so I'm wondering if any of you fine lot can offer any advice before I dismantle the wife's one to see what I'm up against (obviously I'd rather not) and I don't want to start looking at Ruth's one until I have an idea what I'm up against.

These are the codes:
  • P004B-77 (27) Turbo/supercharger boost control solenoid B - circuit range/performance - Mechanical failure - commanded position is not reachable

  • P259B-71 (26) Turbocharger boost control position sensor B performance - Stuck high - Mechanical failure - actuator is stuck

I've done the electric actuator on my L322 which (aside from the stripped out screw heads) was a piece of cake but most things are easier on the monocoque anyway. Not sure why I was surprised that the secondary turbo would have an electric actuator but I guess that's the only way the car can know that it's "Stuck", if it was an old vacuum operated unit I suspect it would just show an underboost effort.

Anyone have any experience of this issue at all? Please have at it and give me the horror stories or placate me and tell me how easy it is to fix ;)

Hi mate I have a sdv6, with turbo issues started to remove in situation, but run across other issues so pulled motor in the end, but believe it can be done if by removing turbo, I watched a couple of YouTube vids where someone was doing this maybe a couple of pictures that maybe helpful on D4 engine removal
