Hi All. I need to get a trolley jack that's capable of getting the front and rear of my 2004 L322 4.4 V8 high enough to get the wheels off. One corner at a time would be OK.
Could someone let me know what lift height I need to do this comfortably.
Many thanks,
J
I also have a 12tonne bottle jack that once packed on wooden blocks under the rear Subframe mount will lift the rear wheels clear (but only just clear) of the ground.
Thanks Saint. If I want to avoid the blocks of wood I'd need a lift of about 600mm
My last jack used to perch on a gatepost but has (thankfully) given up the ghost and forced me into getting a safe and capable tool.

When I had some tyres changed, they jacked under the rear wishbone, I protested as the wishbones are hollow and thin material and pointed to the official jacking points, to which they shrugged and mumbled then walked off to talk to their Supervisor who came out and agreed to do it properly and they struggled to get the lift required!!
The larger sealey one, think the 5 tonne version, I have and it lifts my L322 off the ground fine. It's also the low / slim model so it slides under low clearance cars, which comes in handy.
