Hi all,

I'm a real newbie at this, gonna pick up my 1st discovery on saturday,
We're getting it to pull our new caravan thats a bit too large for our mondeo!,

My question is this.. the bar that is fitted to it does'nt have the ball with it but just what looks like a piece of channel with holes down each side, My cravan has an Alko hitch,

What am i gonna need to get so i can put the ball off the mondeo onto the discovery?? ps the ball came with the caravan so I know its the correct one.

Assume you're talking about the alko stabiliser hitch...

take off the two bolts (and nuts) with the ball from you mongeo, fit to the bar on the disco.

Sounds like a Dixon Bate towhitch .. look on ebay for cheapness ...

Thanks all,

Had a look at the Dixon bate one and I think it looks very similar, so I think i'm gonna have to get the plate the ball bolts onto.

DONT use the crappy lil scotch locks to fasten the towbar socket cable to the light loom wires ! there is a factory fitted plug inside the right hand rear corner just under the light cluster and the cable/plug from the towbar socket is available on ebay for about 17 quid. just plug it in, no need for bodging crappy scotch locks onto the loom. i found this out last month after having problems with the rear light. i just gotta get it plugged in and wired upto the new socket.
