Guys, just replacing swivel balls etc, how far does the top bush have to be hammered into the swivel ball - can' t seem to find an answer on here and i' m concerned about getting it in the right position and square.
Cheers, Ad

if you must hammer it use a copper hammer ,and ensure slight flats face seal, it fits in as far as the step

Ok thanks, for some reason the new bush is about 5mm longer than the old one. It definitely needs drifting in its very very tight

When I did mine, I put the bush in the freezer and the swivel ball in the oven.

Went in easy then.

Got it in, used 32 mm socket as a drift and with the help of some wd40 it moved a bit easier. measured it all the way round and it seems pretty square. Preload checked and shimmed and all assembled. Just noticed that my stub axle seems to have a bronze bush on the inner face - next problem is how the hell do i get that off!!??
