Seen a 97 Disco 300 Tdi for sale at garage for £4k. 135k miles FSH- not too bothered by high miles cars - had them before. Body/chassis on a par with everything else I've seen. Engine 'tappet type sound' - had a Golf did this for years - do 300 Tdis do it???
It seems so cheap compared to all the others same age locally (incl a 70k miles at £8k) can't help but be suspicious.
Any thoughts???

there is a 97disco for sale near me and he wants 4250, so i would say that yours is about right

300 tdi shouldn't tap, not loudly anyway, may have cap broken/fell off the top of one of the valves, that'll make the clearance bigger and it'll rattle like fook
