Hi please could any body help me yesterday whilst driving in very heavy rain, just as i pulled off and made some turns at junctions i noticed that my steering was really heavy almost as if my power steering was failing, but it didnt persist could anybody tell me what could be the cause . I own a defender 90 h reg 200tdi which does have power steering

some peeps suffer similar when driving thru water - pas belt (or alternator belt) slips with the water, then dries out and is OK again.
Had similar with alt light coming on when going thru deep puddles the other weekend.

Your power steering belt could have got wet and be slipping.... did you hear any squeeling or feel any juddering??
