Hi all,

My 93 200 tdi is fitted with Craddock 2" lift springs and 9000 shocks.

usual heavy bumpers/winch/rock sliders ect are fitted so car quite heavy.

Tyres 265/75/16 BFG A/T's

As I was looking for as much sensible travel both up and down I did not change the bump stops (front or rear) and left the originals in place.

So far I have had no problems and all seems well but my tiny mind keeps thinking that not fitting them will cause problems later down the line.

The marks on the original bump stops indicate that they are being touched by the axle on occasions so the springs are not becoming coil bound, articulation seems good (photo attached) no nasty bang or clonks car drives perfect on and off road should I be concerned?

regards

Dave

if you extend your bump stops your gonna loose a touch of articulation. keep em standard if yer only lifted 2"

Thanks for that, it's great having been a mechanic for years but as soon as you move away from the 'norm' the doubting thomas in me start to nag.

As mentioned earlier I put a dab of white paint on the bump stops and found it contacting the axles so I know the springs are not bound up.

Thanks again

Dave
