Birdy, if you google 'discovery timing belt change' then you'll find loads of useful step-by step guides. Get stuck in, only when you've got the grease under your nails is it truly yours!

buy your parts locally, not mail order, as there were two designs of tensioner, idler, and bottom pully for a 300 timing belt.
I stripped mine down to find the replacements I had in hand were wrong!
