Rustystuff Active Member Jan 18, 2016 #5 Would agree with valve clearance issue.... have had similar problem, not on a Td5 but 200Tdi, they have valve stem caps that wear through, opening the rocker gap.... don't now if Td5 has the same arrangement ?

Gordy88 Active Member Jan 19, 2016 #6 Thanks for the replies. I'm pretty sure the tappets are hydraulic, so unless one has failed they should be OK I'll do a compression test and hope it's not cylinder 5! Thanks again
