Does anyone have any ideas why the throttle response would be lazy on my 300tdi non EDC? The landy goes pretty well she's not down in power, but there's quite a delay from pressing the pedal to the revs picking up? When pushing the throttle by hand it's really noticeable almost as though the pump needs to think about it's next move.
We used to have a 300 disco as a company vehicle which to be fair was an exception to the rule, it went very very well with instant throttle response which it's bugging me. I could just swap the pumps over and be done with it now the discos a breaker but that's just giving up and admitting defeat...

Forgot to add, my pump is already tweaked, diaphragms turned and the smoke screw head is level with the locknut so if say that's wound in a bit too...

It's not smoke free it gives a grey haze as to be expected, only one exhaust box in the middle which is new. Egr is gone, pump dti timed and a good turbo boosting a full bar at the manifold. It does drive well, just seems a bit lazy to rev up.

Hmm never thought of that, I am doubtful because it does drive well, doesn't need boost to drive round towns etc it pulls it's own weight no bother, that's with disco transfer box. Just seems to be lazy to come off idle. Does anyone's else's 300 use a good 2/3 throttle travel to maintain 60-65 on the bypass?

Mines gine until I start towing, and mines a defender t box and 65 is foot flat down I have big remold tyres on if that effects it

when you say the throttle response is delayed, is that from when you first apply pressure to the pedal only, or is it also delayed when you have the pedal half way down and you apply more pressure?

Just lacks power when loaded, as for response I've never had a responsive landrover, my honda blackbird engined 205 is responsive

I suddenly found mine was not responding as well, ( I agree a responsive landrover is a bit of an oxymoron, LOL) . when I checked the throttle cable at the end under the bonnet , found the adjustor had come loose meaning I had to put my foot down to get only half throttle opening, readjusted so it was taut again and all was fine.

Cheers

Yeah it's delayed from first pressing pedal, however cable is adjusted up right, I learnt that lesson the annoying way Some time ago. I could do with finding a trailer somewhere local and stuck 2 ton of sand in it, see how well it pulls then. Warrior, if you foot flat down gets you 65 with a fender t box, does my 2/3 throttle seem about right with disco box then? I've nothing to compare it with apart from the works flying machine which is false comparison really.
