Hi, can anyone help me with a part number? I've drained the system that often, the washer round the plug is getting worse for wear. Can't find either a new plug or washer

I think it's TYB 500120, but a grown up will be along soon to correct me if I'm wrong ...

Also there have been stories of different sizes of plug and thread, as the change overs were made, also if the rad has been re-cored at all ...

Some will take a British Standard Pipe Taper (BSPT) plug, you may find that the original plug will have a parallel thread (BSPP) rather than the taper thread you find on BSP plugs, the original BSPP seals with the fibre washer whereas the BSPT seals with the threads. ..

Thanks, is a plastic plug and doesn't look tapered. It's a rubber seal too, no idea if it has been re-cored

Hmm, TYB 500120 shows for me as a filler plug off a defender diff

Should be same size ...

Try: the part number NTC4609, which was replaced with ERR4686....

Drain plug for petrol rads is ERR4686. O'ring is ERR4685. A grownup has spoken.

Thanks! No wonder i couldn't find it, with it being listed as a filler plug!! Certainly looks right though
Currently a flat washer fitted, not an o-ring

Should be an O'ring.

Flat washer is for the other plug type ...

I should have taken a picture of the plug i have! It's back in now though and sealed ok!
