Hello,
I have a strange problem with my 2003 L322 that no-one can identify (on other forums, or at the garage I go to) where the problem lies, so I am hoping that people on here can help me out!!
Sporadically, the transmission goes in to “safe mode”. When it does this, the box continues to work perfectly, EXCEPT that the torque converter clutches don’t lock. Otherwise the box works fine. The gear changes are smooth!!
I have checked the errors, and it comes up as 0x30 Mechanical torque converter monitor: General fault.
The ‘box has been fully refurbished, and the garage have taken it all to pieces a second time to find the fault. They cannot find anything wrong. They have now replaced the torque converter a second time to be sure, but it is still doing the same thing.
Here are some videos of the fault codes that come up.

If you look at the videos, you can see that the live values for the engine ECU are giving very strange values.
Do you think that the problem could in fact be related to the engine ECU as I have already tried replacing the gearbox ECU and that hasn’t made any difference. The garage have checked the wiring, and that seems to be fine also.
We are all at a loss, and the LR garage here are worse than useless, so CAN YOU HELP…. PLEASE
Many thanks.
