Hello my defender td5 won’t reach working temp.
Change the thermostat twice but still no change.
any idea’s?

Have you checked the thermostat in a pan of water on the stove? You can measure the temp it starts opening at
How do you know it's not reaching normal temp?

How far is the temperature gauge coming up, TD5 engines run cool, they bo not normally gets up to the mid way point, between 10 -11 oclock is quite normal, mine has no Viscous fan and never gets higher than that even on the longest run or hotest days in traffic.

Pretty much the same problem with most 90's 110's and defenders. How far/long are you driving your truck for.

Mine used to do that, but the thermostat was stuck in the open position.

I know you have changed it twice, but they don't have the best reputation, especially cheap ones! If you haven't already it really is worth doing what kermit rr said and test one in a pan on the cooker. Put it in a pan of cold water and heat it up on the cooker. It should start closed and open up to look like my picture.
