....but only for the first 500 yards after a cold start
It’s firing on all cylinders but acceleration is hesitant.
After that it’s fine and the fault only returns if it’s parked up for a few days
(Fairly often in the current climate!)

Any ideas as to what may be causing this?

What if you let it idle let's say 15 -20 seconds after cold start before you pull away... is it the same ?

Check the injector loom for the presence of oil before doing anything else.

An update...

Wiring harness was fine (no oil at ECU)

Fitted a new MAF and it’s cured the fault. Thank you for the advice.
