The interior lights on my 2002 td5 go off after 15 secs. They do not follow the pattern described in the manual. As I understand it there is an auto-shut off after 8 mins to avoid draining the battery. So, how can I get back the default instead of this 15 secs pain in the a*se?

The times you give or there abouts are the default times on either disco 1 or 2.

15 sec when u get into or out of the car unless you switch on the ignition.
8mins time-out function if a door is left open.

I don't get the 8 mins time-out with a door left open. Just 15 secs. Can it be changed?

OOPs the D2 has a 'body management system' the only way to get in to that is via a laptop running something like testbook. There's a few things that can be altered, added or removed and the delay you require may be one of them.
