I had a scary moment coming home today about 1/4 of a mile from home I noticed a strong smell of diesel and after stopping the car and getting out the smell was overwhelming. A quick look under the car confirmed my fears there was diesel p!@*ing out of the engine compartment! So up came the bonnet and as I’m removing the engine cover I can feel the foam is soaked with fuel (oh crap thinks I this is going to be expensive) but after a quick inspection I found the source of the leak it was the line from the injection rail to the fuel cooler that had come off. It wasn't damaged it had simply popped of and went back on easy as you like, nice and secure. So I started up the engine and no more leak (which makes me very happy) a quick test drive and there's still no problem but what's bothering me is how the blinking heck did the think come off in the first place? If anybody has had a similar experience and shed some light on why it happened then I be grateful for any help or advice.
