Just had my EGR valve off and cleaned thoroughly(nice).I do not have a blanking kit at mo,but if I put back and leave vacuum pipe disconnected and plugged,it cannot open again.Any reason for not doing this ?

Don't see why not...and at least the bolts will be nice and free for when you do get a blank .
