I had the cheaper of the EGR blanking kits installed last week as part of a service, this involved just the in-line blanking plate and gasket. The lads doingg the work were not familiar with it and just installed the blcanking plate for me as part of the works being done.

Everything does feel smoother, the engine feels as though it is breathing better, but this is difficult to judge as the feel good factor from the service (including auto box oil) is also there.

What are the realistic mpg improvements noted by others following this mod.

Also, do I need to do anything else with the egr valve now, ie disconnect the wiring etc

Not realy noticed and diff in performance or economy after doing mine. I've also left the wires attached to the control unit. Not sure if they or the vacume pipe needs disconnecting

Get the proper kit mate,this removes the complete valve you will get a better flow, disconnect wiring and blank vac pipe off.
