Just bought a landrover discovery with 216000km on the clock in NSW Australia. I was driving it back to my home in western Australia and the clutch gave out in Victoria. I drove on another 3500 km with no clutch. Got home okay.
Bought a landrover manual and will be replacing the clutch and drive plate when I return from work on the 28th of May.
I will do a full service drop oil and replace filters and centrifgue filter and drain water from radiator and replace with fresh charge of coolant. I did note that I was loosing water from the water pump for the first 1000km then kept an eye on the water consumption and all is fine no further water leaks from the Mechanical seal of the water pump and coolant wise I never lost any more water The engine seems to be in good condition. The car used no oil coming over to western australia and blew no smoke and was excellent no other worries
I shall replace the needle roller bearings on the drive shaft front and rear. Not to sure about the rubber joint that goes on the drive line weather to replace if no visible damage or spend the extra couple of dollars and replace it regardless is there anything else I should be looking at. While the car is out of action
