Hi all, recently picked up my TD4, a friend of mine pointed out that the engine cover is missing, Is there a problem with this other than less noise from the engine ?

All the engine cover does is reduce engine noise as far as Im aware..., I have left mine off now for about a month with no side effects.

hi depends on the age of td4 sounds like a newer 1 if you belive the engine cover as they changed and did not have a cover all over,tiga

Hi, mine is a MY01 and has the full size engine cover, (as Labiarat I also removed mine since a while already, to make it easier to catch that ticking sound, suspected to be the egr valve, when I stop the engine), my neighbour who bought a Td4 Sport MY05 has no such full size cover but only a small one that covers the inlet tubes etc. in the top middle of the engine block. The air filter housing and the airinlet in front of the engine are all covered with the old kingsize one where these are 'naked' in the more recent editions. (I think from MY02 on the kingsize cover no longer installed). Another thing is the FBH, on the MY01 I got it without asking for where now I understand it's on the options list ?
