Oldseadog Well-Known Member Oct 22, 2011 #2 I've always set the tappets on a straight 4 cylinder petrol engine at 10 thou inlet and 12 thou exhaust. Never had any problems, although there is a school of thought which says 10 thou all round. Did you RTFM? Hope this helps. OSD
