Hi all I need so advice please. When I try to start my fl 1 she just ticks and nothing else. So I put some jump leads on and still nothing!???
So I gave the starter a tap and she worked ok. The only thing now is I have to tap it every time I want to start it.
Any ideas ???

might be a problem with the starter?

Sticky starter
There are a number of things you could do, all involve taking it off.

You might get away with stripping it and giving it a clean and grease.
It will probably be the solenoid (on the side) it's a plunger with a spring at the back inside

do a search...been covered loads of times...kits on ebay...

Check the exciter is in good condition first.

my L series behaved just the same way a few weeks ago, here are some pics I took of the proces,
I got the spares at a local shop cause couldn't wait for delivery, you'll need the detail that is on the sticker on the starter to get parts
