Before standing on the tailgate check the retains straps, by prizing up the rubber covers to inspect for rust.
I'mg

swap mine out any member know if they are retained by cage bolts or nuts and bolts.

P38's are the same, when you buy new ones pack them with grease

And for what they are they are not cheap

Nuts are welded in place I think.

That would be the sensible thing..
I am amazed RR use such corrosive materials.
Especially on the brake lines.
Will find out when new arrive, and post answer

The nuts did not move when I replaced the straps on mine.
