i've had a look and i can see a few pics around but can anyone show me any good ones of a swing away that operates with the door rather than a seperate catch? the ones ive seen seem to show a bar like a droplink and a rubber bumper for the carrier to hit, but non of the pics are good enough to work out what i need to make

help please :D

To make it work with the door lock you'd need to link a lock via cable to the handle inside

Personally if it's pure ease you want I'd do it using a drop pin method where the inner handle raises a solid pin on a lever out of an eye. You can then locate that anywhere you want. Or if you want it purely on the rear door so they swing in tandem then just up rate the lock on the inside there is a way using simple geometry ;)which would be the preferred method of choice if I was makin one

That pic wouldn't be the way I'd make one, a single joint isn't that tough

Send me a message on Facebook later and I'll fire over some pics

ok, i've currently got a cheap nasty one like this

but i can't see the point binning it and buying a £200 one when i just need to add some sort of hinge thing lol

Yeah all you need to do is relocate the hinge. Doesn't matter where to as long as you get the geometry correct but obviously the further from the two others the better for weight distribution
