i have a discovery TD5, suspension on rear driver side drops, I have been told it is the pan hard rod. I am wary of taking it to a garage as I have been ripped off before and want to have a bit of knowledge before I go. Can anyone give me a bit of advice...

You don't have a panhard rod on the rear it's a watts linkage and it doesn't affect your ride height. Leaking air springs are the most common fault.
