Hi,

When I turn the steering wheel of the Freelander I hear a clunking noise. On closer inspection it seems that the spring is not turning freely and resists the turn, only to then judder around. The Wife is now paranoid that the suspension is going to fail when she is driving it as she did some googling on it. It's like when she goes on NetDoctor to search for headaches. She comes away convinced she is terminally ill! I digress.

The spring does not seem to be rotating with the steer which I think explains the jerky nature of it when you look at it whilst turning the wheel.

Anyone have any pointers as to what might be the issue here and whether it is something that needs to be addressed?

Thanks

Would say top mounts need replacing... There is a bearing in there that sounds like its seizing or is seized...

Cheers
