Hi guys how do you remove the glass from the sun roof and could it be done fast as and when needed to shoot out the hole? I can see the 4 black caps but don't know how to remove them and if I can replace them with an Allen key bolt and rubber washer to keep the sun roofs watertight and easy remove them when needed.

disco sunroofs are never water tight :D

The four bolts are Torx but a Phillips/Pozzi screwdriver could be used if they are not to tight, they can be access easy so there's not a problem to remove the glass, the problem will be replacing it exactly so the seal meets the glass evenly, otherwise water will seep past the seal :( .

After 15 years my sunroof are still water tight, what is it with leaking sunroofs :D

lucky git. So probably not the best idea to take the glass in and out once a week when I shoot then lol.

That thought did cross my mind after my post but I was on my way to bed :D

If you have a good glass seal and a sunroof frame seal then it won't leak.

You could remove the sunroof and install a submarine style hatch similar to what is used on top of large water tanks. I fitted two a few years ago on the water tanks in a school for a bit of extra cash :D

I was looking for one but couldn't find one big enough to fit through. Any idea what to search for?

Cheers.

Give metal access hatch or inspection hatch a try, remember they don't always have a lock and are not always water proof..
I think it's time to forget it and go back to the drawing board :D

Try the marine trade. There are numerous hatches available that can be locked and will seal perfectly, the down side is that finding a perfect fit for the sunroof apeture may be difficult. Good idea for a bigger hole, could get a bigger gun up there quickly.
