Hi all

can not get the fob to work dead battery and also the spare is dead as a door nail . i live in the country side miles from everyone and nearest friends live 100km away. cant get a new battery til Monday and that will be a long walk as no cabs here. is there anyway of getting the alarm immobilizer off just a thought HELP will be much appreciated

If its an early model with combined alarm/immobiliser you need to input the EKA code ,later models have immobiliser built into the key/ignition barrel.
 
gonna say thet . . .just use the key in drivers door, it should switch orft imobiliser un open the doors. . . .it should help yer till you can get your new batteries. . . . .:)

nope try-ed that

i unlocked the drivers door no probs there but put key in ignition and nothing :confused:

PS: land rover freelander 1.8cc petrol year 2000 3 door

Adam,
You might not need to solder, just bare plenty of wire, and use the battery to trap it under its contacts. It shud say on the battery which is + and -

See the piccy, If you think how the battery goes into its holder, just lay one wire on top, so its trapped against the contact, and one underneath to do the same with the -ve terminal.

just looked on rave disc,instructions for EMMERGENCY KEY ACCESS are on page 11 of your handbook.
 
Does your key have a large bulbous plastic end on it or is it a crappy looking thing with a hinge.If its the former then it has the immobiliser transponder in it so it should start the car.The car should have given warning that the handset battery was on the way out.
