Hi, bit of an odd question but just thought i'd get some thoughts.
i carry a lot of stuff in my 03 plate (5 door) freelander's boot and often find my self putting all my weight into shutting the boot door. i usually get it shut but really have to force it sometimes. I sometimes leave bits in there pushing against the boot door for weeks and i'm worried i'm gonna do damage to the catch which holds the boot shut. Any body know how much of a hammering then can take, should i be taking it easier when loadsing the car or don't i need to worry?

think you've answered your own question, you are putting strain on not just the lock assembly, but also the hinges

maybe time to think about how you pack your vehicle
