Hi All.

I've just bought a Disco II 4.0l V8, Auto, 2004. I have a question that I was hoping you might know the answer to..

On the steering wheel I have both a volume / menu control to the left and cruise to the right..

I've got the cruise working but the volume to the left I am struggling with. Whatever I press on that left I simply get the word 'Phone' appear in the radio LCD?

I can't seem to control the volume, radio station presets or anything with the control, I just get the 'Phone' notation. No reference to this whatsoever in the manual..

Is it an aftermarket head unit? If not, which one is it?

By the way, it's advisable to introduce yourself in the appropriate section when joining the forum, or people may thing you've just joined to get an answer to your problem and then swan off and will comment accordingly. Welcome...

Hi there. No it's branded Land Rover and is a single CD head unit. (Thanks for pointer re joining intro - will do.)

The 2004 discos I know off have a CD multi player and the three button switch controls the volume, mode (CD radio or tape) and search.
Is it not possible that you don't have the correct head unit, as it displays 'phone' the button functions may have been altered to suit the previous owner.
