are the tubular type steering guards as good as plate type steering defender/guard? random 1 i know!

Greater coverage plate type must surely protect more.

Surely your talking mud, I'm not disagreeing-just interested the benefits and in what context. pay and play?

mine is rusted out.

yuz - i yam. Having had to be pulled backwards out of a mud-hole (Thanks Ratty) the front just kept scooping up mud and acted like a ground anchor.

ive made a plate type guard but have been killing time at work and stumbled accros this on ebay

seemed reasonble but if the one i made is better 4 the job then ill stick with that

There are pro's and cons of both. The bar type ones are great if you want protection from direct hits on rocks and old tree stumps. They also don't dig in in the same way that a plate one does when reversing As MHM gas said. The plate ones do skim over the mud better while traveling forwards though. The bar type ones are not so good if you drive over an object and it flicks up. It's all down to personal choice and luck of the draw.
