Hi,

Just trying to find out why my steering feels so odd. All the ball joints are new and fine, the universal joints on the steering are fine, it is all coming from the steering box. On full right lock its all nice and tight, in the centre its abit loose, and on full left lock its got tones of slack. Also the power steering is intermitant. This was a newly reconditioned box back in march and i think it must be a dodgey unit.

Any thoughts?

Could be the unit then, i believe they have 2 reservoirs inside the box, one for each side turning, perhaps one is failing, do you have fluid around the box are at all?

No leaks, its all topped up and bleed too.

Think its a mechanical problem, i can ajust the slack out of it in the center, then turn it right to lock and it will be binding, left to lock it will have slack, engine off or on it doesent matter.
