Hi guys, wondering what are the main differences between steel wheels and alloy wheels (other than they are made from different materials and steels can be "fixed" on overland trips)

Alloys are lighter and generally a bit stronger in absolute terms.

That is the usual point of contention, as once the alloy is bent, it generally cannot be trail-repaired, whereas the steel wheel will yield to the lump hammer and soldier on.
