Body colour, its ex-mil so everything was painted anyway (from some distance too!). Mine were faded paint plus worn off galv. I looked at painting mine to look like old galv - there are disussions on what mix to make up. Sod that. A series is a 50 year old vehicle, bright cappings are ok if its a nut and bolt resto, but for everyday use I think they belong with white lettering on tyres. I was suprised how nice it looked with them all painted, and its a lot less work.

I completely agree, although I said galv that has to be old faded galv, not new shiny bright galv, that would not look correct on a series vehicle.
I had a 110 with rotted capping so swapped it for the galvanised capping from a 109....looked ridiculous so painted over it body colour.
Bought an 88 a couple of years ago and the PO had painted the galv capping......SILVER!!! Brass wire brush on the grinder sorted that out
