hi

TD4 - Freelander 2006

my car is not starting up. The battery is good.
Bit of history

1. Always had the trouble filling up the car as the pump keep cutting off every 1/2 litre and takes ages to fill the tank up

2. Had the turbo cooler hose exploded and replaced it
3. The hose became loose last week and it tightened it again.

Now the engine is cracking but not starting.. I could hear the hissing noise from the hose. I loosened the hose and tightened it

From reading all the post, it looks like fuel pressure sensor.. any advice on this would be appreciated.
1. also is it easy to replace fuel pressure sensor ?
2. and will it solve the problems I have?

Thanks in advance.

First time uploading photo. sorry for the mess.

I circled the hose which I tightened. I loosened it and fired once and then now it is not doing anything. whenever I turn the ignition on, there is hissing sound coming for about 60 seconds on this hose (may be somewhere near to the hose) and stops..

after i switch off the ignition also the same happens. also in the second photo you can see lot of oil i dont know from they are sprayed on...

Any help appreciated before I go to the "Specialists"

thanks

You might be better off asking in the freelander section as I only have experience of defenders and all electrical giggery pockery is witch craft:D

If that hose was loose it would not prevent it from starting.
The fuel pressure sensor is easy to change.
The oil is from the hose being loose, it also rubs on the screw underneath
When you turn the ignition on can you hear the fuel pump prime (N/S/R) wheel arch?
