Hi all i have a problem my Starter on my 200tdi defender is buzzing but not cranking the engine evan with the key out of the ignition
Making buzzing noise
What could this be !!!!

if its clicking, then it could the the battery needs charging

sorry, read it again, are you saying it's still buzzing with the key removed from the ignition?

Pull the small spade terminal off the starter, does the buzzing stop?

Release the bee trapped in your starter. Or disconnect the battery asap.

And then replace the solenoid contacts, or complete solenoid

Right arfter playing around with wires and relays it was still spinning with ignition on
So i got my wooden hammer and smacked it f#$@ing hard
She's running and the buzzing has stopped
So what could that of been ?

Solenoid fault, get it sorted asap because it could go on fire, seriously.

+1. Solenoid contacts sticking together.
