Maybe a loose connection that when you brake, causes the connection to be lost, and when you accelerate it moves in the opposite direction.....
A very common failure point is the yellow harness under the seats....check these are secure.
Remember to exercise cautions, you are dealing with explosive charges afterall.

i suggest its a job for hawkeye or any other good diagnostics kit. srs/airbag faults even silly ones like loose connectors often require diagnostics to delete codes and data before lights will be extinguished on dash. you may cure the fault without knowing by reconnecting a terminal but without a machine the light will stay on and you assume problem still there.
Thanks for the replies guys,guy on eBay selling an SRSwiring loom that he bought cause he had the same fault and turned out not to do with the loom, he has given me a few pointers as to what cured his , Deeside 4x4 fixed his so I gave them a call , seems loose wire under drivers seat so will check under seat again , may be the wire to seatbelt pre tensioner, I will keep u posted

When I had ABS problems I also got an SRS/Airbag fault. Fixed ABS (which involved amongst other things changing alternator wire and tighening various earth connections because my battery wasn't getting properly charged), then cleared airbag fault via diagnostics (it had hard faulted and so this was the only way) and since then all's well. Don't fully understand the relationship but that your's flashes when braking might mean something.
