ive had the defender a month now and decided its time to fix some leaks, so gave it a quick clean up with a scraper, some glass cleaner and a now black microfibre cloth i had at hand as im a master at cleaning
this first one i have tracked back to the sump gasket which am getting tomorrow

but need some advice on the second one of what the pipes official name is? and best place i can get a new pipe as its clearly been bodged? the red bandage with hose clips is where its been bodged and its the thicker pipe of the 2 next to the blue pipe, sorry if i sound dopey

there are other small leaks that i can fix at a later date but the sump seal one is quite big and has turned half the drive black
so anyone a bit more clevererererer that can name that pipe gets 2 brownie points lol

Can't see the pics but if you are saying two pipes one slightly larger than the other I'm guessing left hand side as you look at it from the front just in front of filter? If so these run to the inter cooler.

iare they showing up now? i uploaded them to my profile and linked them from there. the pipe is on the passengers side of engine coming from the bottom of the turbo bits then joins into the bottom of engine. think its an oil return pipe but not 100% and dont want to order wrong part

Turbo oil dump pipe, just get a piece of appropriate type and sized pipe and put it on.

ive found this page with the setup and you were spot on matey, it is part number 7 etc6663 where all the oil and crap is. does the engine need to be drained for this as il do it at same time as sump gasket if so and can the hose clipped section be removed without removing either of the main pipes 4 or 6? im guessing 4 would be easier to remove with more access
