Hi all,
I am landy newbie. I have 1991 disco 200tdi, with frilly chassis option.
It also has chilly interior option, so I pulled the dash out and had a look. The fan is toast and the whole heater unit was full of leaves (probably what toasted the fan in the first place).
I am pretty handy and have got as far as having the whole unit out and on the bench with only minimal swearing and less than 2 square inches of knuckle skin. Can't get it to split though. I have taken off all the clips and unscrewed what appears to be un-screwable and it still hangs on somewhere in the middle. Haven't tried an axe yet. I have trawled the internet and e-bay for manuals, but everything is post '95. The only thing I have found is people selling haynes, but I am on a bit of a time frame and the delay of waiting for one will 'displease' my wife......
Does anyone have a diagram or procedure for splitting the unit? I believe once I do it, I can fit a VW motor and fan which is supposedly better, any corroboration on this would be great too.
Sorry to begin my input with a request. I am ussualy pretty active forum bod and will be here a lot.
all the best
Tom
