On my Defender 110 CSW’s roof-rack I want to carry my second spare wheel.

For a vehicle that will be quite heavily or perhaps fully loaded, what is the best possible position for the 32 kg wheel: fully forward, in the centre, or where?

If it's just where fore and aft, then exactly midway between front and back wheels. It's called Polar Moment of Inertia. And obviously, for the same reason, as low as possible.

cause it is where i would put one if i did the same space down either side and weight in the middle

If it were me (and I wish it was) I'd try and keep the centre of gravity as low as possible for stability. I'd put one on the bonnet and one on a swing away spare wheel carrier at the back. I'd try to keep liquids off the roof for the same reason.

If it were me, I wunt be puttin it on the roof.

Dunt want a hernia fank you!
