I am about to change my tyre size from 235.85/16 to 265/75/16. My current spare wheel and tyre are unused, can I still use this in case of emergency or should I replace it with another 265/75/16 to match the new four tyres?

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

As long as it is not a gaylander:D

Yes. the rolling circumference is virtually the same on both tyre sizes.

Whats the issue with using a different sized tyre on a Gaylander?

Because Freelanders use a viscous (hydraulic fluid) centre differential, and not a mechanical locking one. The difference in rolling circumference of any wheels will result in different drive shaft speeds. This will in turn damage the centre viscous coupling.

Which will result in a very large, uncontrollable explosion and the unfortunate demise of said gaylander:violent::banana:

Cheers for that, I hadn't realised that Gaylanders were, how do I put this
