I have a red ( paint 601) bonnet with a bollard sized ding at lower drivers side edge. Bonnet is otherwise not deformed and in fair nick : has usual furniture including insulation/mat ( except I've cannibalised the washers.)

It's a ding about the size of the top end of a bollard.
Does that help ?
