I thought I had a lead at M & M Worcester but by the time I had called, they had just cleared their stock, back in August.

They have had a lot of requests so may redo their GRP ones in the future....but does anybody know of a source for "new" lower tailgates? The one I have is in pretty good nick but is bubbling.

I am reluctant to buy another one off a breaker since it is likely to be (a) in worse condition than the one I have and (b) in the wrong colour.

I know that I am probably looking for rocking horse excreta but you never know until you ask. Who knows? Maybe this forum could organise a group buy if enough people want one, enough to encourage a supplier to do a batch? The S2 Club have done two group buys of heated front windscreens over the past three years and they are the dog's doodahs, at a price that is effectiveoly two for the price of one and a half unheated windscreens.

I took mine to bits ans sanded it down, filled, sanded and coated, painted and hardened. It looks fab at a few paces, but I will be looking at a newish one - no doubt.

To the best of my knowledge new lower tailgates have been unobtainable for several years & I was suprised when M&M stopped re-producing their own in GRP, did they give you a reason? Strange that various outlets still do top units (maybe from the same manuf.) but not the bottom's as they rust just as bad, if not worse.

When I phoned them at the end of August (after I picked up the RRC) they said that they had cleared their warehouse. Since then, a number of people had contacted them asking for tailgates so they might redo them in the future.

Anyone want to sell a GRP lower tailgate that they have never got around to fitting?
