My parents are the area co ordinators for Support our Soldiers charity and I'm trying to think of a way to raise some money for them! They know a few people at the MOD so I was thinking of trying to get some of the lanes on the firing range in the northumberland national park opened up for a green laning day and some sort of camping/assault course type thing with maybe the army/TA involved to put us through our paces, sort of a survival type day/weekend, the idea being that every landrover/4x4 involved having to raise a certain amount for the charity!
The money goes to help the lads overseas and to good causes back home like to help rehabilitate the soldiers that come back injured! Every penny goes to the soldiers.
Would anyone be interested in principle or has anyone got any ideas?
 
Sounds interesting, if you made it into some kind of mini Camel trophy type thing where it's a combination of landy skills and other skills all combined into a competition i think that would be great :)
 
I don't really want to ask a different charity for ideas, I just want to raise a bit of money for the charity my mother works her socks off for and have a good time doing it! I thought there would be noone better to ask than you lot, the camel trophy is a great start, Im going to need to do some research! Cheers bump

Sounds good to me.

Green-laning with the Army would be interesting, dunno about, at my age, an assault course though, unless they let us fire guns and blow stuff up too!

Don't worry fp, we have a secret weapon as far as cake baking goes, although i suspect men in uniform may be an achilles heel.:D
