Following a lengthy spell of a having a faulty coolant guage (now fixed) with new coolant bottle, i was pretry unresponsive when seeing the 'Low coolant level warning pop up again.....
Some trim got loose so i picked up some clips at an independent Land Rover garage...... mentioned the randon hot air and was told that it might be an air lock or it could be a head gasket replacement which is 12hrs labour just to check..... they replaced the coolant bottle cap (incase it was not sealing and allowing in air). From all the searching i have done the head gasket leading to a heating issue has happened in Range Rovers P38s, but not so much in discos.
So can anyone tell me:
1. What the F#@k has the head gasket got to do with the heating system? still unclear.
2. Anyone else had this problem?
3. Why is it 12 hours labour to replace a head gasket, and if so WTF were Land rover thinking?
