I'm not sure what it's doing back home in the UK, but in Prague we just got our first snow of the year - 3cm in 2 hours and it's still going strong (should have 15/20cm by the end of the day)

I couldn't be happier - the hippo is great in snow and there's nothing i look forward to more than hooning around in the white stuff.

Well in Aberdeenshire we have plenty of snow - the BBCRadio 2 Traffic News is talking about main A roads all around me here as being 'not advised' or 'passable with care'.

Sorry no pics at the moment - but I'm sure someone will be posting some soon.

We had plenty of warning of today's snow and for tonight's low temperatures (-12C) that are expected.

I'm sure the 2-wheel-drive guys will have been re-fitting the props this weekend. :rolleyes:

You guys love the white stuff - I just don't get it, its like vindication for buying a 4x4 or more likely you want to go out and slide about in the dam stuff - ba humbug!!:D

Too late for me to refit prop now - oh bugger!:D
 
we did have some snow here but it has gone and rained and all the snow has nearly gone here in Stoke

Having a 4X4 has it's drawbacks - folks expect you to turn up on time for work - they expect other folks to be late or not show up at all. :( :p

But Freelanders are useless ..... in that they can't jump ........ over the other vehicles that can't get up the hills. :rolleyes:

I have been known to phone in 'stuck' and then head for the forests with the dog and me binoculars for a birdwatching walk in the 'white wilderness'. :D

As for sliding - that's a problem - it won't slide - you need a BMW 528i for that - I know - I've got one.

Methinks you are jealous - and want to play in the snow too - but we get snow up here in March and April - and by that time even I'm fed up with it.

The hippo is fun in snow - you can hoon around but it's still sure-footed. Plus snow just brings out the kid in me - a kid with a car ;) great combination.

If i could have this much fun without snow in summer, i would.

Er, maybe a bit jealous? Everything grinds to a rapid halt here with snow - roads, trains, airports and I worries bout the other half chargin about in her 4x4 (way to confident) - dont really matter how many axles have drive when it all goes sideways! Anyhoo, have fun in the snow:D

And when did my dam VC bearings decide to pack up!!!!! The Landy will drift a treat pulling out of junctions:D With a prop of coarse, think I might just go kick the crap out of dem dam bearings:violent:

Please don't misunderstand me - 'Safety comes First' for me - even Freelanders can't defy the laws of Physics on corners.

That's why I head for forests etc and stay away from the jammed up main roads.

I fully appreciate that everyone doesn't have the luxury of that option.

Rural Aberdeenshire grinds to a halt too - schools closed etc.
I've just watched the BBC Scotland News on channel 1 - the same old pics - cars with uncleared windows, and big saloons with wheels spinning uselessly.

They actually zoomed in on one car on its roof (and probably unintentionally) showed the tyres - very obviously high-speed summer tyres - with not a lot of tread left, I might add.

Driving on the main roads is dangerous - there's no getting away from it

We all need to take extra care whatever vehicle we drive.

I hope your other half takes it easy and stays safe.

You should visit Austrian Alpine passes in June - they still have snow even then.

I'm addicted - have been for years - check this one - closed from November to May - it's well above the snow line even in August.

Grossglockner High Alpine Road

You stay safe too mate - take care with the 'hooning about'.

Take note - what I like/love is pic#1 - I hate pic#2 - and as for pic#3 - very sad.

Cheers for the tip - i'll look into it, it's not far away at all.

Agree totally with driving safely on the roads - i'm lucky in that my hooning takes place on green lanes, lightly asphalted private roads and fields / forests all belonging to farmers / land owners over here who are happy to allow access and use.
 
Lets be honest we have the best type of cars for the weather we are having,
but it only takes one nutter to ruin everything,,,they are found in two places

1. Driver's seat of your motor..
2. Driver's seat of someone else's motor..

Take care and watch out for nutters..
 
Ice is the worry for me ...down Loftus bank theres water running down the road from a burst drain or something, its been like it for months - now its dangerous because its bound to freeze...dont know what the authorities are thinking of by leaving it like this...someones gonna come a croppa!!
 
What snow, bought my FL after the snow of 2010 when we were unable to even get the MB off the drive for a week, not snowed since :(

What a shame.

I suppose that a lack of snow is just one of the bugbears of living on the 'Cornish Riviera' Nick. :rolleyes:

We have -5C this morning - I've just finished clearing the snow from around the house and now the thick freezing fog is just starting to go away.
