Does anyone have any experience of flat/punctured tyres triggering EAS faults? A rapid puncture a few weeks ago seemed to result in a EAS fault, and now I've got a tyre thats loosing about 10lbs every 150 miles and it appears to be upsetting the EAS causing a fault every 30-50 miles at times, although at other times it'll go 150+. It's worse on longer runs at speed, e.g. Wakefield to Reading ~7 times in 210 miles! Thank God I carry my laptop, or that would have been expensive!!! Unfortunately my EAS cable will clear faults and control pump etc. but refuses to read fault codes or height settings? (Any thoughts on that one gratefully received too).

Yeah, yeah - that goes without saying... but is that what's likely to be causing the EAS fault or do I need to dig deeper?

Sorry I couldn't resist.

The difference in the height of the tyre may have thrown the height sensor out. I think I read a thread on here saying that you can reset the sensors by moving them through their full range or something. I'll have a look for you.

had this before, as has already been said the flat tyreruns slightly faster than the others giving the eas computer false readings so it chucks the light on..only cure is new tyre or puncture repair depending how bad it is.

Thanks for that. I did search on punctures and eas before posting but nothing popped up. I have got new tyres, but such a busy week didn't have time to get them fitted up, just thought I'd try and limp it through. The spare was already on after puncture a couple of weeks ago.

you will find bfg ****e and puncture alot down ere.get some simex.

Think simex might be abit too chunky for the daily commute, got the puncture on the motorway, in a stock scorpion s/t. Had new tyre fitted today and when they stripped old one off 6" bolt dropped out I guess from rolling about in road it was worn to a point and had punched right through head and all, or maybe I'm being simple:doh: and some b'stard did it deliberately!

I have to admit that from the couple of days I had to walk (sorry for swearing) whilst I replaced my rad last month, it was frightening to see just how much debris was littered along the road. So many nuts, bolts, and screws it's amazing that anything is still in one piece! and certainly makes you wonder whether the cars/trucks around you on the road might suddenly behave erratically as something falls apart:frown:
