reckon a 90's is slightly longer.......or wider pending on how you look at it, but fitments the same

Can't be much in it lengthwise, as long as the fitting to chassis is the same - just got offered a good straight one for nothing!

Yes, your right 2" shorter - an inch each side is barely noticeable.

Yes good job - I didn't realise that it would be shorter, my main concern was that the fitting is the same - thanks.

Just for the record - the mounting holes are spot on and fits perfectly but it sits out from the front panel about 2" more than the original and thats noticeable. Easily fixed with an angle grinder and repositioning mounting holes accordingly. The difference in length is not that noticeable.
