Headed off into the Peak district for a much needed trundle around in the mildly moist conditions yesterday ....
Stuck to hard surfaced (IF VERY wet lanes) But was nice to get out and blow the cobwebs away ...

No 1 TON's to be seen here ...It's just got silly tyres on ....frankly my FFR has more 1 TON in it than that lol ....

No BB camo was never used on Air portables BUT the owner just fancied something different (It's actually Ex RAF and was the base commanders personal transport )
The owner was however Anal enough to scale the pattern to fit the AP ....(the pattern was standard across the vehicles it was painted on just the scale differed )

The 1 tonne I refer to was in pic 4+5.
Berlin Camouflage was invented by the OC 4/7 Dragoon Guards he experimented on Cardboard cutouts of Chieftain tanks, each square is approx 18 inches square in grey, brown, white and black, it was not scaled down if the vehicle was smaller. My mate was 4/7 RDG and has written books on different types of armour.
Looks a fun day out though.

Then you SHOULD know that a "1 Tonne" has nothing to do with Landrovers
a
A "1 Ton" is closest to a military H/D chassis without the low geared helical box
A 101" or Forward control has even less to do with a "1 Tonne" than a "Wonton" or a "Wanton"

And yes I'm well aware of the sizing of the "Tiles" designed by Clendon Daukes However my point was My laddos AP would have looked silly with 18" tiles over it so HE scaled it down .....

Far more arsed than I would have been BUT there you go ....

It was

Good points on both accounts but being an ex regular squadie and still serving as a reserve I do have a soft spot of all military vehicles.
