I have a series 3 1983 and it slips out of 1st and reverse gear Has anyone got a diagnosis to this

Worn bulk rings, worn selector forks or selector stops or worn layshaft bearings.

burn it out and fit a 200tdi.

but yes it can be fixed as andy mentions.

****ed 200tdi disco 500 quid....go get one dude.
